Gorgeous Relay - CoursE Info
THE 2020 GORGEOUS RELAY COURSE highlights the Historic Columbia River Gorge Highway State Trail, waterfall alley, and the communities of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
Gorgeous Relay takes place on land ceded to the US Government by tribes of the Columbia Basin. This is the homeland of tribes that have been here for many millennia, and continue to maintain connections to this place - the Chinook Indian Nation, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Cowlitz Indian Tribe, Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Yakama Nation, The Wanapum, and the Nez Perce Tribe.
Updates 2020:
- Thunder Island Brewing is building a NEW brewery and restaurant in Cascade Locks - and Gorgeous Runners will be some of the first to check it out as your new Exchange 3!
- The government entities that manage the Historic Columbia River Highway have been making a series of changes to manage congestion and crowding on the Historic Highway and in waterfall alley. And, after 6 years of utilizing Vista House as an Exchange, the Gorgeous Relay's permit will no longer allow it. Leg 8 runners will continue past Vista House to the new Exchange at Portland Women's Forum. They will be granted eternal respect by their team for completing the glory leg of the Gorgeous Relay and receive extra swag to commemorate their accomplishment!
